Privacy policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
waypointgeographic.com (the "Site") is operated by Waypoint Geographic LLC ("Waypoint," "we," "us," or "our"). We sell globes, maps, and related geographic products, primarily to customers in the United States.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we disclose it to, and the choices and rights you have. Our Site is hosted on the Shopify e-commerce platform.
Two links appear in the footer of every page of our Site, and we will refer to them throughout this policy:
- Privacy Policy — this document.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information — the page where you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information and of targeted advertising.
Privacy at a Glance
- We collect the information needed to run an online store: your contact and order details, payment information (handled by payment processors — we do not store full card numbers), and information about how you use our Site.
- Advertising and analytics cookies, pixels, and similar technologies load only after you accept them through our cookie banner. Essential cookies that make the store work always operate.
- After you consent, we work with named advertising and analytics platforms — Google Analytics and Meta (including a server-to-server connection called the Meta Conversions API) — and with our email and text-message marketing providers and order-tracking provider, as described below.
- Some of this may be a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
- We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out request, as described in the "Your Choices" section.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information. We do not collect more than we need to run our store and provide our services. If you buy our products through another platform we sell on, or through a wholesale marketplace or partner retailer, we receive your order and contact information from that platform or partner (see "Buying from us on other platforms" in Section 4).
| Category | What it includes | Where we get it | Who we disclose it to | Sold or shared? | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers and contact details | Name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, account log-in details | Directly from you (checkout, account creation, email sign-up, contacting support); platforms and wholesale/retail partners we sell through (see Section 4) | E-commerce platform, payment processors, shipping carriers and fulfillment providers, order management systems, customer support platforms, email and text-message marketing providers, order-tracking provider, accounting and tax systems; advertising platforms as described in Sections 3 and 4 | Yes — hashed email addresses, cookie and pixel identifiers, and IP address to Meta, and cookie identifiers and IP address to Google (see Sections 3 and 7) | Kept while your account is active and as needed for your orders, then per the order-record and account criteria in Section 10 |
| Commercial information | Products you viewed, added to cart, or purchased; order history; returns and exchanges | Directly from you and automatically through the Site; platforms and wholesale/retail partners we sell through (see Section 4) | Same categories as above; advertising and analytics platforms (as event data) after you consent | Yes — purchase events and order values to the advertising and analytics platforms named in Section 3 | Kept as required for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal purposes per Section 10 |
| Payment information | Payment card details and related billing information | Directly from you at checkout | Processed by our e-commerce platform and payment processors; we do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems | No | We do not store full card numbers; transaction records are kept per the order-record criteria in Section 10 |
| Internet and network activity | Pages visited, products viewed, referring website, clicks, device type, browser type, IP address, cookie and pixel identifiers | Automatically through the Site — via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, and only after you accept them (see Section 3) | Analytics and advertising platforms named in Section 3; e-commerce platform | Yes — to the advertising and analytics platforms named in Section 3 | Retained per the platform lifetimes described in Section 10 |
| General (coarse) location | Approximate location, such as city or region, inferred from your IP address | Automatically through the Site | Analytics and advertising platforms named in Section 3; used for shipping estimates, tax, and fraud prevention. We do not collect precise geolocation | Yes — included in the advertising and analytics data described in Section 3 (derived from your IP address) | Retained per the platform lifetimes described in Section 10 |
| Communications | Emails, phone calls, and text or chat messages you exchange with our support team (we do not record live support calls; voicemails you leave may be transcribed and emailed to our support team) | Directly from you | Customer support platforms | No | Kept for a limited period after your issue is resolved, per Section 10 |
| Inferences | Preferences drawn from your browsing and purchase history (for example, an interest in a product category) used to show you relevant products and offers | Derived from the information above | Email marketing provider; advertising platforms after you consent | Yes — product interests to Meta | Kept until you unsubscribe or opt out, per Section 10 |
The purposes for which we use each category are described in Section 2, and the retention criteria referenced above are described in Section 10. You can opt out of the disclosures marked "Yes" in the sold-or-shared column at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. This section, together with Sections 2 and 10, is intended to serve as our notice at collection under California law.
The only sensitive personal information we collect is account log-in credentials and the payment card information you enter at checkout, which is collected and processed by our e-commerce platform and payment processors. We use sensitive personal information solely to secure and provide your account, process payments, prevent fraud, and for other purposes permitted by law; we do not use it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell it. We do not collect government identification numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, or health information.
2. How We Use Your Personal Information
- Providing our products and services — processing and fulfilling orders, arranging shipping and delivery, processing returns and exchanges, maintaining your account, and providing order tracking.
- Customer support — responding to your questions and resolving issues.
- Marketing — sending marketing emails (if you signed up or purchased from us); sending text messages about your orders or, where you have agreed to receive them, our offers (reply STOP to any text to opt out); showing you relevant products; and measuring and improving our advertising, as described in Section 3. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- Analytics and improvement — understanding how visitors use our Site so we can improve it.
- Security and fraud prevention — protecting our Site, our customers, and our business, and screening orders for fraud.
- Legal compliance — complying with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and other legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims.
We do not use your personal information to train artificial-intelligence or large-language models, and we do not sell or share it for such training.
3. Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, on-page pixels (also called web beacons or tags), and server-to-server connections on our Site. This section explains exactly what runs, and when.
Consent comes first
When you first visit our Site, a cookie banner asks whether you accept advertising and analytics technologies. Advertising and analytics cookies, pixels, and similar technologies load only after you accept them through that banner. If you do not accept, they do not run. Essential cookies — those required to operate the store, such as keeping items in your cart, completing checkout, and securing the Site — always operate. You can also opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
The platforms we use
After you accept, the following third-party technologies operate on our Site:
| Platform | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | E-commerce platform | Hosts our store and provides store analytics and checkout. Some Shopify cookies are essential and always operate; Shopify's analytics and marketing features respect your consent choices |
| Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Analytics | Measures how visitors use our Site — pages viewed, products browsed, purchases — so we can improve it |
| Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) | Advertising | An on-page pixel that shares your activity on our Site — such as pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, and purchases — with Meta to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show you relevant ads |
| Meta Conversions API (Meta Platforms, Inc.) | Advertising (server-side) | In addition to the on-page pixel, we transmit certain order and event information — such as hashed email addresses and purchase details — from our systems directly to Meta through a server-to-server connection. This is not a cookie; it is a direct transmission from us to Meta. These transmissions occur in connection with your activity on our Site and orders you place; you can opt out of this disclosure at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page |
| Our email and text-message marketing providers | Email and text-message marketing | Power our marketing emails and, where you have agreed to receive them, our text messages; after you consent, connect your Site activity (such as products viewed or carts left behind) to your subscription so we can send relevant messages |
| Our order-tracking and returns provider | Order tracking and returns | Provides order-tracking pages and returns processing using your order, shipment, and contact details. It operates as part of providing your order, regardless of your advertising-cookie choices |
Meta may use the information it receives for its own purposes as well, as described in its own privacy policy. Google's handling of analytics data is described in its privacy policy.
We may also advertise on AI assistant platforms (such as OpenAI's ChatGPT). Buying advertising placements on those platforms does not by itself involve your personal information. If we adopt an AI platform's ad-measurement technology on our Site, it will operate only after you accept advertising technologies through our cookie banner, like the platforms above, and we will update this policy to name it.
This may be a "sale" or "sharing" under state law
We do not sell personal information for money. However, disclosing browsing, product-view, and purchase information to advertising platforms such as Meta may be considered a "sale" of personal information, "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or processing for "targeted advertising" under certain state privacy laws. You can opt out of this at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, in addition to declining consent through the cookie banner.
4. How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers who help us run the store — our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, shipping carriers (such as FedEx, UPS, or the U.S. Postal Service), fulfillment providers, order management systems, customer support platforms, our email and text-message marketing providers, our order-tracking and returns provider, and accounting and tax systems. Orders are packed and shipped by third-party warehouses on our behalf; they receive the name, shipping address, contact details, and order information needed to deliver your order. These providers process personal information to provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics platforms — Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API), as described in Section 3. On-page advertising and analytics technologies load only after you accept them through the cookie banner, and you may opt out of these disclosures at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
- Our corporate affiliates — companies affiliated with us that help operate our business (for example, shared order-management and customer-support operations), for the business purposes described in this policy.
- Parties you direct us to disclose to — for example, a gift recipient's delivery details.
- Legal and safety recipients — law enforcement, regulators, courts, and professional advisors where required by law, to protect our rights and the rights of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of our business.
We do not disclose personal information to data brokers, and we do not sell personal information for money.
Buying from us on other platforms
You can also find and buy our products on platforms we sell through, including Facebook and Instagram Shops, Google and YouTube, TikTok Shop, and the Shop app. When you browse or buy on one of these platforms, the platform collects your information under its own privacy policy, as an independent business. It shares with us the information we need to process and deliver your order — such as your name, shipping address, contact details, and what you ordered — and once we receive it, we handle it as described in this policy.
We also sell wholesale to businesses through wholesale marketplaces and our own partner program, and supply products to select retail partners. When a marketplace, wholesale buyer, or partner retailer sends us an order to fulfill, we receive the business or customer contact details and order information needed to fulfill it, and we use that information only for that purpose.
5. Relationship with Shopify
Our Site is hosted on Shopify, which processes your personal information to provide our store, checkout, and related services. Shopify's handling of personal information is described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. You can also exercise certain rights over information Shopify holds through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
6. Your Choices
- Cookie banner — when you first visit our Site, the cookie banner lets you accept or decline advertising and analytics technologies. You can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information at any time using the page described next.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising — visit the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page and use the opt-out control there.
- Global Privacy Control — Our website recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or browser extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information and of targeted advertising. The opt-out applies to the browser and device from which the signal is sent. It does not stop data processing needed to provide our services (such as fulfilling your order), and it does not opt you out of marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from separately. You can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. Other than Global Privacy Control, we do not respond to legacy "Do Not Track" browser signals.
- Marketing emails — unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, or contact us using the details in Section 13.
- Text messages — reply STOP to any text message from us to opt out. We may still send order-related texts where permitted, and you can ask us to stop those as well.
- Platform-level controls — you can also manage how Meta uses information about you in your Meta ad preferences, and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
7. Your United States Privacy Rights
We extend the following rights to all United States residents, regardless of the state you live in. Depending on your state, some of these rights may also be guaranteed to you by law.
- Right to know / access — request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and a copy of it.
- Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes).
- Right to portability — receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
- Right to opt out of "sale," "sharing," and targeted advertising — use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser (see Section 6), or decline advertising and analytics technologies through the cookie banner as described in Section 6.
- Right to opt out of certain profiling — we do not use personal information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (such as decisions about credit, housing, or employment). Fraud- and security-screening of orders is excluded from this statement to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you have questions about our use of your information for product recommendations or advertising, you may contact us, ask for an explanation, and question the result.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a right to limit under applicable law, and we do not sell sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Submit a request by emailing privacy@waypointgeographic.com, using the contact details in Section 13, or through any contact method listed on our Site. However you reach us, we will treat a clear request to exercise your privacy rights as a valid request. You can also manage certain requests through the Shopify Privacy Portal. Requests to opt out of sale or sharing (including via the opt-out page or a Global Privacy Control signal) do not require verification — we may ask only for information needed to apply the opt-out to your browser, device, or account. For other requests, to protect your information, we will verify your identity before fulfilling them — typically by confirming control of the email address associated with your order or account, and, where necessary, by asking about your recent order history. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf if the agent provides proof of your written authorization and we can verify your identity.
We will respond within the time required by applicable law — generally within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where reasonably necessary (we will tell you if we need it). Exercising your rights is free of charge, except where applicable law permits a reasonable fee for manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive requests.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing privacy@waypointgeographic.com with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond to appeals within the time required by applicable law. If we deny your appeal, residents of certain states may contact their state Attorney General or data protection authority.

Categories collected. In the preceding 12 months, we collected the categories of personal information listed in Section 1: identifiers and contact details; commercial information; payment information; internet and other electronic network activity; general (coarse) location; communications; and inferences. Sensitive personal information is limited to account log-in credentials and payment card information processed by our payment processors. The sources and business purposes for each are described in Sections 1 and 2, and recipients are described in Section 4.
Categories sold or shared. In the preceding 12 months, we "sold" or "shared" (as defined by California law) the following categories of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and analytics, as described in Section 3:
| Category | Disclosed to | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers (such as hashed email address, cookie and pixel identifiers, IP address) | Meta (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API); Google (Google Analytics — cookie identifiers and IP address) | Advertising measurement and targeted advertising (Meta); analytics (Google) |
| Internet or other electronic network activity (pages and products viewed, items added to cart) | Meta (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API); Google (Google Analytics) | Advertising measurement and targeted advertising (Meta); analytics (Google) |
| Commercial information (purchase events and order values) | Meta (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API); Google (Google Analytics) | Advertising measurement and targeted advertising (Meta); analytics (Google) |
| Approximate location (city/region derived from IP address, included in advertising and analytics data) | Meta (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API); Google (Google Analytics) | Advertising measurement and targeted advertising (Meta); analytics (Google) |
| Inferences (product interests) | Meta | Targeted advertising |
You can opt out at any time via the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. On-page advertising and analytics technologies now load only after you accept them through our cookie banner.
Categories disclosed for a business purpose. In the preceding 12 months, we disclosed each of the categories in Section 1 to the service-provider categories listed there for the business purposes described in Section 2.
Sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted under California law, and we do not sell sensitive personal information.
Minors. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Except for the advertising disclosures described in Section 3 — which you can opt out of at any time via the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page — we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents may request information about any such disclosures under Section 1798.83 by contacting us as described in Section 13.
Notice of Financial Incentive
From time to time we offer a benefit — such as a discount on a purchase — in exchange for signing up for our marketing email list. The material terms of each offer are presented at the point of sign-up. Participation is voluntary and requires your opt-in; you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us as described in Section 13, and we will not penalize you for withdrawing. We offer these incentives because your participation in our email program helps us market our products, and we value the personal information you provide (your email address and related sign-up details) as approximately equal to the value of the discount or other benefit offered, based on the expense to us of providing that benefit.
Additional information for other states
- Oregon and Minnesota residents (and any other resident who asks): you may request a list of the specific third parties to which we have disclosed personal information. Email privacy@waypointgeographic.com to make this request.
- Minnesota residents: our data retention practices are described in Section 10, and you may question the result of any profiling described above as part of the rights listed in this section.
- Nevada residents: Nevada law allows Nevada residents to direct certain website operators not to sell covered information. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law, but you may submit a verified request at our designated request address, privacy@waypointgeographic.com, and we will respond within 60 days, as Nevada law requires.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Site is a general-audience store. We sell products that families and children enjoy — including children's globes and activity products — but our Site, marketing, and checkout are directed at adult purchasers, not at children, and the Site is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 — or under 18 where state law requires — and we do not knowingly serve targeted advertising to minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 13 and we will delete it.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption of payment transactions handled by our e-commerce platform and payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, using the following criteria:
- Order and transaction records — kept as required for tax, accounting, warranty, and other legal compliance purposes.
- Account information — kept while your account is active, plus a reasonable wind-down period after closure.
- Marketing information — kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which we retain only what is needed to honor your opt-out.
- Support correspondence — kept for a limited period after your issue is resolved, in case of follow-up questions or disputes.
- Analytics and advertising data — retained according to the lifetimes configured with the platforms named in Section 3.
When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
11. Third-Party Websites and Links
Our Site may contain links to websites operated by other companies, and our products may be discussed or sold on third-party platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. Information you provide on any other website is governed by that website's privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it.
12. International Visitors
We are a United States business, and our Site is primarily directed at customers in the United States. Personal information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. If you visit our Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law; you can contact us as described in Section 13 to ask about or exercise them.
13. Contact Us
Should you have any questions about our privacy practices or this Privacy Policy, or if you would like to exercise any of the rights available to you, please email us at privacy@waypointgeographic.com, reach us through any contact method listed on our Site, or contact us at Waypoint Geographic LLC, 801 International Parkway, Suite 500, Lake Mary FL 32746, United States.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — including when we add or change the technologies described in Section 3 — and we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top when we do. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on our Site or an email where appropriate. We periodically review this policy to keep it accurate.
